Laurinel Owen has written
for Strings magazine, American String Teacher, New York Violoncello
Society Newsletter. As a regular contributor to the British magazine
“The Strad” she has published over 100 articles covering every
aspect of string playing including profiles, teaching, reviews and
“how tos”. She has been on assignment in the UK, Germany, France,
Italy, Russia, the Czech Republic, China, and South Africa. She is
currently compiling her articles, The Way I Play, in which
world-renowned cellists discuss their technique.
Her
book "Bowed Arts – Reflections of Bernard Greenhouse
on his life and music" tells the story of the celebrated cellist
and teacher in his own words. A student of both Casals and Feuermann
Greenhouse was a founding member of the Beaux Arts Trio, a position
he held for 32 years. A witty storyteller and master teacher Laurinel
Owen has captured his spirit, humor and one-of-a-kind understanding
of the art of interpretation and cello technique.
